Maintenance
OceanSpar offers a variety of equipment and operating methods to help farmers ensure excellent fish health. We are committed to employing sustainable, environmentally friendly anti-fouling technologies. We reduce predation risk by eliminating predator access to mortality collection points and promoting regular mortality removal.
Cleaning
OceanSpar offers cleaning equipment to meet the diverse needs of a wide range of fish species and site conditions. SeaStation fish pens can be surfaced to the rim (from either end) to allow sun and air drying, and surface-based power washing of nets in-situ. We provide remotely operated net cleaners for active in-situ net cleaning with minimal diver time. Nets can also be easily removed to allow land-based cleaning and sterilization. We do not advocate chemical-based anti-fouling solutions.
Predation Control
SeaStation and AquaSpar fish pens are designed to minimize intrusions by seals, sharks and other predators. SeaStation has a built-in collection point for natural mortalities. The mortality collection bucket is made of carbon steel to eliminate any chance of predator intrusion. In addition, the strength and tautness of Dyneema netting in both SeaStation and AquaSpar fish pens greatly reduces the ability of predators to fully close on target fish.
